Wando Mount Pleasant Library Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

The Wando Mount Pleasant Library is located near the southeast end of the Wando River, within the historic domain of the Wando Indians and within a residential development called Carolina Park. Developers reserved land within the planned community for the construction of public amenities. A successful bond referendum in 2014 empowered Charleston County to secure the site for the library within Carolina Park. After two years of planning, construction of the library started in 2017. The Wando Mount Pleasant Library, containing 40,000 square feet of community resources, expertly constructed by M. B. Kahn, and proudly managed by the Charleston County Public Library system, opened to the public in 2019.
