New Hardy Elementary School Isle of Wight County, Virginia

The School Division is implementing a project-based, 21st century learning design in this 100,000 sq. ft. pre K-4 school. M. B. Kahn served as the CM at Risk on the new, 2-story facility. The project was phased, requiring the new facility to be completed prior to demolition of the adjacent school. Our Construction Management team created a solution of an elevated water tower, pump and haul water operation to ensure water for the existing and new facility throughout construction. Site construction consisted of work on the existing Hardy Elementary School site of 21 acres, including a forced main sanitary system, temporary and permanent parking areas and driveways, play fields, bus loop, concrete walks, areas of concrete, and fencing. The new school opened to wonderful reviews by the community.
