Coahulla Creek High School Dalton, Georgia

The new 3-story, 260,000-square-foot school was built to alleviate overcrowding in Whitfield County School District’s two older high schools. M. B. Kahn conducted evaluations for 25 different potential sites. During the bid process, we split the packages into smaller pieces, and made recommendations to revise the design, resulting in $15 million in savings. The M. B. Kahn team worked with the District to plan and build a theme of personalized and project-based learning into the design and function of the school. The total cost for land purchases, construction, and outfitting the school was $45.2 million. The student capacity is 1,200.
