Barton Malow + M. B. Kahn Break Ground on MUSC Health Indian Land Medical Center October 14, 2025

The Barton Malow + M. B. Kahn team, in partnership with McFarland Construction, recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the new MUSC Health Indian Land Medical Center in Indian Land, South Carolina.

This marks a major milestone following a successful preconstruction phase, during which the team utilized a Target Value Design approach to help maintain alignment between design goals, budget, and schedule. By collaborating closely with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), designers, and trade partners, the team ensured the project remains on track to deliver high-quality healthcare facilities efficiently and cost-effectively.

The new campus will include a five-story, 154,000-square-foot hospital and an adjacent 63,500-square-foot medical office building, expanding access to healthcare services for the growing Indian Land community and the surrounding region.

Construction is officially underway, and the Barton Malow + M. B. Kahn team looks forward to bringing this state-of-the-art medical facility to life in partnership with MUSC Health and McFarland Construction.
